Direct Action Tree Climbing Basics

Come learn with Everglades Earth First! the basics of climbing for direct actions. This style of climbing is used for actions such as tree sits and occupied banner hangs off of bridges, cranes and other industrial structures. This particular style called "single rope technique" uses prusiks to ascend a rope like an inch worm. In this workshop you will learn how to identify, inspect and safely use the gear needed for climbing, learn how to ascend and descend down the line. More training can be provided upon request. We can climb rain or shine, but we are grounded with thunder. Please give 2 hours for the completion of this workshop.
