volunteers
opportunities for volunteering include but are not limited to:
the street team.
help get the word out where you live by posting fliers and posters in radical spaces around your town, making radio announcements and press releases, including apic on your blogs, and whatever else you can think of to make this south east regional conference a solid convergence.
food not bombs.
if you are involved with food not bombs in your town or just like to cook/clean it up, there will be infinite opportunities to help food not bombs with making vegan meals for the conference. meals will be provided all three days (tentatively, depending on help).
video taping.
the organizers of this conference envision apic not only as a one time only series of presentations and workshops or a meet up for activists, organizers, and action oriented people, but a multifaceted and sustained resource for those wishing to access academic and grassroots theories and examples of struggle, practice, and action. For this reason we would like to video tape all of the presentations and upload them to this site so that the knowledge we share and build together at the conference is accessible to those unable to attend (or remember). if you have a digital video camera or are willing to spend some of your time checking on the recording process, respond to this group.
registration.
last year we had someone manning the registration table at all time to answer questions, register people, and get them oriented to the campus. volunteering to man the registration table will help some of the core organizers be able to participate in some of the workshops and presentations for which they've been planning.
clean up.
cleaning up after the conference-a sweet gig involving scavenging for trash and left overs-this will help keep the new college campus, as the host of the conference, happy and willing to let us have it again there in the following years.
